A number of these are described in some detail; in particular, smoke filaments, dye streaks, wall tracers, hydrogen bubbles and tufts. Representative examples of the application of these techniques are presented. The paper has been prepared for presentation in a 1972 lecture series on wind effects on buildings and structures held at the Von Karman Institute, Rhode-St.-Genese. (Author Modified Abstract).
