L'objectif de cette thèse est de concevoir un système d'aide au diagnostic de pannes dans une installation nucléaire du commissariat à l’énergie atomique (CEA). Le système de supervision existant permet d'optimiser les procédés de fabrication en fonctionnement normal. Lors de dysfonctionnements, les alarmes, gérées par seuillage, n'apportent pas d'information pertinente. Pour augmenter la fiabilité, la sûreté et la sécurité des installations, l’opérateur humain a besoin d’être assisté par un système de diagnostic de pannes. Le système que nous avons développé, secapi, combine des techniques de résolution de problèmes et des techniques d'apprentissage automatique qui lui permettent de diagnostiquer et de modéliser les différents types de pannes pouvant survenir sur l'installation. Secapi traite des connaissances exprimées en logique des prédicats du premier ordre. Son principe de raisonnement est base sur des techniques de raisonnement à partir de règles (rapr) et de raisonnement à partir de cas (rapc). Le rapr, basé sur la sld-resolution permet de déduire de nouvelles connaissances a partir d'un ensemble de règles. Le rapc traite des connaissances expérimentales, il s'appuie sur un problème passé pour résoudre un nouveau problème. Secapi est doté d'un module d'apprentissage qui permet d'extraire des connaissances relatives aux pannes, et ainsi de modéliser les différents types de dysfonctionnements. Pour cela, il utilise la programmation logique inductive (PLI) qui permet d'induire un modèle général d'un concept à partir d'un ensemble d'exemples et de contre-exemples de ce concept. Secapi a été appliqué en milieu industriel, sur une chaîne de traitement de tritium radioactif au CEA. Secapi a été confronté à des simulations de pannes décrites par un volume de données très important. Il a permis de diagnostiquer des dysfonctionnements similaires à certains déjà rencontrés, et d'apprendre des modèles de pannes, réutilisables pour de futurs diagnostics.
