Daniel - Sentence Block Diagram Method of the Old Testament Holy Bible - Structure & Themes Bible Reading Guide - Reveals Structure, Major Themes & TopicsThe Following is a Review & Recommendation from Dr. Johnson C. Philip TOP 1000 Amazon REVIEWER on December 10, 2013GOOD TOOL FOR EXPOSITORS!The Bible is a book written over a span of 1500 years, by almost 40 writers who hailed from different cultures and language groups. Thus the 66 books of the Bible need to be analyzed in their own culture, language, and context if one has to understand the message clearly. This is easier said than done. Many methods have come up to understand the message of the Bible objectively, and each method contributes something or other to the cumulative task of clarifying the message. The Sentence-block-diagram method is one of these approaches which yields fascinating insights into what was said. More so because this type of analysis clearly shows sentence connections in our language which connection might not be obvious immediately. The only weakness of the book is that while it shows the result of analysis, it does not contain any interpretation of the text. Thus this book will be useful only for those who wish to get the analyzed text, but not for those who are looking for a Bible Exposition.------------------------------------------I want to thank Dr Johnson Philip for this honest review. From the reviewer point of view he had pointed out exactly the sole objective of this Guided Bible Reading Series. The whole objective is to free the reader from reading any interpretations into the text and let the text speaks for itself. You need to see the structure outline clearly so that you do not read your own ideas into the text. In this sense, as Dr Johnson Philip points out, there are no interpretations and expositions of the passages. However as Dr. Johnson Philip points out, it is an excellent TOOL for expositors all the same!-------------------------------------------NOTE: This edition has a linked "Table of Contents" and has been beautifully formatted for easy navigation. This is a Bible study method called "Block Sentence Diagramming". I learned this sentence diagramming approach to study the Bible in the seminary and in the last 25 years, I have been using this to prepare all my sermons and Bible studies. This series of Bible Books can be used for: 1. Personal Devotions 2. Bible study Preparations 3. Sermons 4. Sunday School 5. Personal Growth and spiritual enrichment You will see the Entire Book in Sentence Block Diagram Form & You see structure & themes at ONE Glance! This is a non-conventional method of Bible studies. It is to make the whole book in block sentence diagram so that you can absorb the major themes using this visual method. 1. Once you know the focus of each section, you can easily compile your own Bible Study notes. 2. You don't need to depend on Bible study outlines done by others. You would know the right questions to ask and discover the answers yourself through meditative studies. 3. When you see the final lay out of the sentence block diagram, you will have ready made (at least) 10 thematic sermons to preach with insights & great content. 4. A Brief Explanation is given to show you how the Sentence Block Diagram Works.5. A Brief Outline of the Book is Given.Enjoy Reading the Bible,Pastor Raymond and Rosa Suen

The first commentary series to do so, SGBC offers a clear and compelling exposition of biblical texts, guiding everyday readers in how to creatively and faithfully live out the Bible in their own contexts. Its story-centric approach is ideal for pastors, students, Sunday school teachers, and laypeople alike. Each volume employs three main, easy-to-use sections designed to help readers live out God's story: LISTEN to the Story: Includes complete NIV text with references to other texts at work in each passage, encouraging the reader to hear it within the Bible's grand story. EXPLAIN the Story: Explores and illuminates each text as embedded in its canonical and historical setting. LIVE the Story: Reflects on how each text can be lived today and includes contemporary stories and illustrations to aid preachers, teachers, and students. —Daniel— The book of Daniel is often read for its contribution to our understanding of end-times events, but sometimes Christians have been so obsessed with this that we have missed its main message: God is in control, no matter how things look, and his kingdom will one day fill the earth. Edited by Scot McKnight and Tremper Longman III, and written by a number of top-notch theologians, The Story of God Bible Commentary series will bring relevant, balanced, and clear-minded theological insight to any biblical education or ministry.

Book Description
A companion series to the acclaimed Word Biblical Commentary Finding the great themes of the books of the Bible is essential to the study of God's Word and to the preaching and teaching of its truths. These themes and ideas are often like precious gems: they lie beneath the surface and can only be discovered with some difficulty. While commentaries are useful for helping readers understand the content of a verse or chapter, they are not usually designed to help the reader to trace important subjects systematically within a given book a Scripture. The Word Biblical Themes series helps readers discover the important themes of a book of the Bible. This series distills the theological essence of a given book of Scripture and serves it up in ways that enrich the preaching, teaching, worship, and discipleship of God's people. Volumes in this series: Written by top biblical scholars Feature authors who wrote on the same book of the Bible for the Word Biblical Commentary series Distill deep and focused study on a biblical book into the most important themes and practical applications of them Give reader’s an ability to see the "big picture" of a book of the Bible by understanding what topics and concerns were most important to the biblical writers Help address pressing issues in the church today by showing readers see how the biblical writers approached similar issues in their day Ideal for sermon preparation and for other teaching in the church Word Biblical Themes are an ideal resource for any reader who has used and benefited from the Word Biblical Commentary series, and will help pastors, bible teachers, and students as they seek to understand and apply God’s word to their ministry and learning.

Book Description
For more than four decades, the Bible studies taught by Dr. Alan B. Stringfellow (1922–1993) brought greater insight into God’s Word to thousands of believers. Now, the author of Through the Bible in One Year and Great Characters of the Bible leads readers on a verse-by-verse study of the book of Daniel. Stringfellow’s in-depth teaching will bring clarity and understanding to one of the most misunderstood books in Scripture. With this study, readers will learn… • How to identify the major themes • How to memorize key verses • How to recognize God’s central message • An overview of various interpretations of the book’s imagery • The role Daniel’s prophecies play in the entire biblical story By embarking on this journey, believers will discover the influence that the book of Daniel had on the life and literature of the Jewish people throughout the biblical period and all the way to the writers of the New Testament, including Jesus Christ Himself, who often quoted from it. But nowhere is that influence seen as thoroughly as in the writings of the apostle John and parallels that exist with the book of Revelation. As in John’s prophetic work, the book of Daniel describes in beautiful and marvelous language the glorious coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Like John, Daniel was sure and certain about the final triumph of the kingdom of God.

Book Description
Daniel is a difficult book about the meaning of history, and people today need its message. Joyce Balwin claims that the church needs to be counting on the certainties proclaimed in Daniel—that God is constantly overruling and judging in the affairs of men, putting down the mighty from their seats, overthrowing unjust regimes and effectively bringing in His kingdom, which is to embrace all nations.

Book Description
We've all heard the phrase: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. What about faith? Will your faith thrive in tough times? Do you desire a more resolute faith? The book of Daniel relates the familiar Sunday School stories of the lions' den, the fiery furnace, and some remarkable prophecies, but take some time to investigate these stories more closely. How did Daniel, Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego possess such a fearless faith? Perhaps no one in the Bible possessed a more resolute faith in God than these individuals. Daniel and his peers never took the easy way out, but stood their ground, even in face of death. There's a lot to be learned from Daniel about unshakable faith. Study this extraordinary Old Testament book. Even more importantly, apply what you learn as respected Bible teacher Warren Wiersbe unfolds both the explicit and implicit teachings to lead you to a more resolute faith.
