"This case study was an investigation into how the founding leadership developed the institutional model, vision, and mission for the proposed junior college, Tulsa Junior College (TJC) at Tulsa Oklahoma. The research was concerned with events between September 1965, when the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education reported the need for a comprehensive junior college education in the metropolitan area of Tulsa, and May 1971, the month during which the first graduation ceremony was conducted. The purpose of this single case study was to analyze the societal, political, and economic factors that contributed to the founding. The research design was qualitative with a focus on the educational leadership within this complex historical phenomenon."--Abstract
