I have now a new public to thank - the reading public - and to my readers I wish now to express my sincere gratitude for the favor with which they have received the Travelogues as they appear between the covers of these books. It is difficult for one who, for nearly twenty vears, has been traveling as a deputy Sightseer for so many auditors and readers, not to feel that throughout all these long, busy, interesting years, he has had the best of the bargain.
