Excerpt from The Brubacher Genealogy in America In the year 1868 a "Genealogy of the Brubacher family and connections" was written out for my own satisfaction, as also for future reference. In the year 1870, while visiting in Canada, Uncle John Brubacher (Deacon) earnestly requested that it should be printed, giving two dollars towards the expense. He succeeded in gaining the promise. To fulfill that promise, by the help of the Lord, the original has been rewritten and enlarged. Care was taken to gather reliable information. Any doubtful information was not accepted. Notwithstanding, errors will be found, because of incorrect information. Whenever a - occurs the necessary information could not be ascertained. The figures enclosed, thus (1) Indicate the generation in America, thus: (1) John Brubacher, (1) Theodore Eby, &c., indicates that they were the first generation in America.
