Phase 1 of the South Saskatchewan River Basin (SSRB) Water Management Plan was completed in June 2002, with the issuance of the document: Phase One, Water Allocation Transfers. Phase 2 of the Water Management Plan began shortly thereafter, with the primary goal of finding the balance between water consumption and environmental protection in the basin.
