Y, sin embargo, cada adaptacion de una obra conocida renueva la eterna polemica: se suele rechazar la pelicula lamentando que la complejidad del texto literario haya sido despreciada por la superficialidad de las imagenes. De la literatura al cine. Teoria y analisis de la adaptacion indaga en el nucleo de ese debate con voluntad de clarificar sus terminos y apreciar la convergencia basica entre cine y literatura: el arte de narrar. En la primera parte se abordan las dimensiones que tiene la relacion entre el cine y la literatura y se establece una tipologia con los procedimientos mas usuales de las adaptaciones, desde la mera plasmacion visual a la creatividad desplegada por cineastas tan singulares como Bunuel o Almodovar. This collection of critical essays investigates an emergent and increasingly important field of cultural production in Latin America: cyberliterature and cyberculture in their varying manifestations, including blogs and hypertext narratives, collective novels and e-mags, digital art and short Net-films. Highly innovative in its conception, this book provides the first sustained academic focus on this area of cultural production, and investigates the ways in which cyberliterature and cyberculture in the broadest sense are providing new configurations of subjects, narrative voices, and even political agency, for Latin Americans. The volume is divided into two main sections. The first comprises eight chapters on the broad area of cyberculture and identity formation/preservation including the development of different types of cybercommunities in Latin America. Books in Motion addresses the hybrid, interstitial field of film adaptation. The introductory essay integrates a retrospective survey of the development of adaptation studies with a forceful argument about their centrality to any history of culture—any discussion, that is, of the transformation and transmission of texts and meanings in and across cultures.
