Book Description
Excerpt from Reports of Cases Argued and Determined in the Surrogate's Courts of the State of New York, Vol. 1: With Annotations The preparation of a case in the Surrogate' 8 Court is often atten ded with dificult'y owing to the inconvenience attending the examination of the numerous volumes of reports in search of decisions bearing on the questions involved. To remedy this inconvenience it is proposed to continue the series of Surrogate' 5 Reports, thus giving the busy practitioner a ready reference to all the important cases decided in the Surrogates' Courts of the State. This volume continues the series from 1894, where Power' s Report ended, and the notes to the cases refer to the later de cisions on the points involved in those cases, including those in the appellate courts, thus giving the entire law on such points to the commencement of this year. Excerpt from Reports of Cases Argued and Determined in the Surrogates' Courts of the State of New York, Vol. 1 Tn publisher has been induced by the success which has attended the series of Surrogates' Reports begun by Mr. Sur rogate bradford, and the fact that no similar series of Reports, embracing cases of Surrogate or Probate-law ex elusively, exists in this country, to continue the series, some what enlarging their scope. It is intended to include cases of value determined in the several Surrogates' Courts of this State, and also cases in the Supreme Court, and Court of Appeals, turning on questions of Probate-law purely, and which are of perma nent value in this branch of the law. Book Description
Excerpt from Reports of Cases Argued and Determined in the Surrogates' Courts of the State of New York, Vol. 1: With Annotations No scrim of surrogate's reports has been published since that completed by Theodore Connelly in 1891. Since that time the opinions rendered by the surrogates of New York have appeared scattered through more than seven different sets of reports and legal newspapers. It is unnecessary to demonstrate the advantage to the busy practitioner of having at his hand a series containing all the decisions upon so important a subject. It is with the intention of meeting such a demand that the work has been once more resumed. In addition to the decisions, valuable notes have been pre pared and references made to cases affirmed or reversed. With the hope that the present series will meet with the generous reception accorded to its predecessors, it is submitted to the legal profession.
