Cet ouvrage vient faire état de ce que signifie, pour divers acteurs de l’enseignement, collaborer. Les injonctions au travail collaboratif des enseignants se font de plus en plus pressantes et il devenait nécessaire de faire état de résultats de recherches, particulièrement sous l’angle d’expériences de collaboration, sur les pratiques enseignantes plutôt que sur les pratiques d’enseignement réservées au face-à-face pédagogique de l’enseignant face aux élèves et davantage étudiées. Bien que le développement professionnel semble devoir passer par l’injonction du travail en collaboration, des auteurs de cet ouvrage soulignent à juste titre que le travail en collaboration ne constitue pas une base historique du travail des enseignants. Concrètement, que signifie travailler en collaboration ou en coopération pour des enseignants ? La coordination de pratiques peut se prescrire, mais pas la collaboration entre enseignants. D’où l’importance de cet ouvrage pour permettre l’accès à des études sur les pratiques actualisées, au-delà des pratiques prescrites. Cet ouvrage comble donc le besoin de documenter des expériences correspondant à cette forme de travail somme toute nouvelle. Des contributions provenant de divers lieux (Belgique, France, Québec, Suisse), dans des contextes différents (écoles préscolaires-primaires, secondaires en situation de réformes ; expérience de suivi pluriannuel d’élèves), à propos de catégories d’acteurs (enseignants, enseignants-chercheurs à l’université). Des études faisant appel à diverses méthodologies (études de cas, entretiens, observations, analyse de documents, questionnaire), plusieurs faisant appel à plus d’un outil méthodologique ; la majorité privilégiant les études qualitatives. L’ensemble des contributions permet de mettre en évidence un certain nombre de résultats convergents en rapport avec la thématique, quant à l’accompagnement nécessaire, des conditions à mettre en place, des obstacles (souvent structurels), des exigences. This book aims to present some of the latest research in the didactics of space and geometry, deepen some theoretical questions and open up new reflections for discourse. Given the academic benefits of assessment-driven teaching, and the growing accountability context of educational systems around the world, there is a rapidly developing need to educate teachers in effectively using assessments to promote, monitor, and report on student learning. However, assessment has historically been a neglected area in teacher education programmes, and empirical research has consistently shown assessment as an area of challenge for many teachers. While there is an increased focus across teacher education and professional literature on enhancing the assessment capacity of educators, there remains little empirical research on innovative and data-based strategies to effectively achieve this goal. The purpose of this text is to consolidate existing research on assessment education and to provoke innovative and effective approaches to educating teachers and teachers-in-training about assessment. Given the dearth of relevant research, this text also considers the matter of retention and extension of initial assessment learning into teaching careers. Combined, the articles in this text provide a foundation for novel thinking about developing teachers’ assessment capacity from pre-service to in-service contexts. This book was originally published as a special issue of Assessment in Education.
