These bear ings are moved infrequently and at very low speeds. They may be, however, subjected to great loads When the gun is fired. These conditions are very different from those usual for bearings in engineering work. For the latter the speed is much greater and the periods of Operation much longer They, however, are not often subject to great loads or to impact.
