A Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos (1948) afirma que "todos os seres humanos nascem livres e iguais em dignidade e em direitos". De acordo com essa Declaração, a educação é uma ferramenta fundamental para a garantia, promoção e propagação dos Direitos Humanos. Mas o que se tem feito para garantir a efetivação desses direitos na escola? É possível encontrar boas práticas de ensino de Direitos Humanos? O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a abordagem desses direitos no cotidiano escolar e garimpar boas práticas nas situações de ensino-aprendizagem e, além disso, perceber se há relação dessas práticas com uma postura interdisciplinar do(a) professor(a). O percurso dessa obra iniciou pela construção dos conceitos de Boas Práticas de Direitos Humanos e Postura Interdisciplinar Pedagógica que serviram de óculos para enxergar essas práticas no cotidiano escolar. As analises revelaram que não existe uma receita de boas práticas de Direitos Humanos, mas mostrou que atitudes simples são capazes de instigar o pensamento crítico dos educandos, tornando-os capazes de intervir na realidade para transformá-la. Embora os(as) professores(as) não tenham uma compreensão clara acerca dos Direitos Humanos e da Interdisciplinaridade, eles tentam promover um ensino integrado, assumindo uma postura interdisciplinar. O estudo aponta que é necessário incluir os Direitos Humanos nos cursos de formação, para que esse tema seja tratado com coerência e intencionalidade pedagógica na escola.

This book represents a unique contribution to understanding the interactions between law and religion in contemporary Brazil. It analyzes how the regulation of religions according to the classical notion of secularism has become a source of tensions since the 1990s. Against this background, the respective chapters demonstrate, on the basis of various case studies, how the constitutional principle of pluralism, introduced by the 1988 federal constitution after a military dictatorship, has been addressed by new political actors, such as religious leaders, parliamentarians, influencers, state representatives, and activists. In particular, the chapters demonstrate how the mobilization of legal language, notably the language of human rights, has become fundamental to developing and consolidating new political agendas concerning secularism, tolerance, freedom of expression, gender and sexuality, family, and cultural heritage. In the authors’ approach, human rights assume a central role in social disputes as a language in which actors constitute themselves as rights subjects, form activist networks, and pursue their goals by expressing themselves in public. Given its focus and scope, the book will be of interest to all scholars seeking to understand the relationships between diversity and the regulation of religious practices in plural societies, where the classical notion of secularism continues to show its limitations.

This book discusses the politics of justice in relation to migration addressing both the controversies of governance and the active role of migrants’ struggles in shaping the materiality of justice. Considering justice and migration as globally contested fields, the book questions received wisdoms of European migration politics, including images of a migratory ‘crises’, the reconfiguration of the borders of justice, and the spurious pretensions of controlling and governing mobility.
