Book Description
Excerpt from Directory of American Cement Industries and Hand-Book for Cement Users The introductory chapter gives a short sketch of the development of the cement industry in this country, beginning with the manu facture of natural hydraulic cement and culminating in the manu facture of the best Portland cement at the lowest price ever reached. The principles of the various processes which are in use are stated in the course of this history. The descriptions of individual works follow. It will be seen that the same general de scription will answer for all the factories in a class and thus it is only necessary to give one lengthy description and give in other ceases the differences in design.
