Excerpt from Crops and Markets, Vol. 14: November, 1937 The Bureau of Agricultural Economics reports that shipments of stocker and feeder cattle into the Corn Belt through stock yards markets were about 20 percent larger in October this year than last, but were 10 percent smaller than in 1935 and only about equal to the 5-year (1932 - 36) 'october average. Most of the increase in October this year over last year was in the number going into the States west of the Mississippi River, largely into Iowa and' Nebraska. Buying was stimulated by a bulge in corn prices and firmness at Winnipeg.
