Es importante repasar brevemente la evolución histórica de la calidad y presentar las aportaciones de los conocidos como gurús de la calidad, a fin de comprobar que sus aportaciones siguen permaneciendo activas hasta hoy, y son el punto de partida de muchas de las filosofías de calidad actuales. En este trabajo nos centraremos en el sector del automóvil, desde el punto de vista de los servicios que presta un concesionario de coches. Analizaremos qué factores externos influye en su calidad y veremos cuáles son los factores que los clientes determinan como de calidad, con el fin de tomar acciones de mejora. Comprobaremos la utilidad de las herramientas estadísticas en la consecución de este objetivo.
