Robertson has earned an M.Div. degree in Systematic Theology from Berkeley Baptist Divinity School, and M.I.A. (International Affairs) and M.Phil. (International Politics) degrees from Columbia University. He served five years on the staff of the National Student Christian Federation and five years as a campus minister on the staff of the Waseda Hoshien Student Christian Center in Tokyo.
