Book Description
Have you been everywhere for help but still do not have a resolution to your ailments? Do you have a myriad of little irritations and pains but nothing bad enough for you to go see a Doctor? or the treatments you have been using have not resolved the problem? This book is designed to guide you through the different thought processes to first identify how bad your situation is, when the problem started and then guide you through different thought patterns to identify the causing factors. It could be a physical injury, emotional trauma, stress or over working. Once you have the cause, then you are able to identify which technique will help you resolve the issue. Perhaps you need all the techniques discussed in this book, perhaps you only need one. But each technique is discussed in detail as to how you apply it and how others have walked the same path and the results that they achieved through using these principles. It is a self-help book guiding you through the different steps. This book is based on the knowledge that I have gained through my various experiences and treating my patients. I have shared each situation with you to help you through your own problems and added interesting stories of cases I had.

Improvising Reconciliation
Author: Ed Charlton
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 1800349262
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 219
Book Description
An Open Access edition of this book will be made available on the Liverpool University Press website and the OAPEN library on publication. Improvising Reconciliation is prompted by South Africa's enduring state of injustice. It is both a lament for the promise, since lost, with which non-racial democracy was inaugurated and, more substantially, a space within which to consider its possible renewal. As such, this study lobbies for an expanded approach to the country's formal transition from apartheid in order to grapple with reconciliation's ongoing potential within the contemporary imaginary. It does not, however, presume to correct the contradictions that have done so much to corrupt the concept in recent decades. Instead, it upholds the language of reconciliation for strategic, rather than essential, reasons. And while this study surveys some of the many serious critiques levelled at the country's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (1996-2001), these misgivings help situate the plural, improvised approach to reconciliation that has arguably emerged from the margins of the cultural sphere in the years since. Improvisation serves here as a separate way of both thinking and doing reconciliation. It recalibrates the concept according to a series of deliberative, agonistic and iterative, rather than monumental, interventions, rendering reconciliation in terms that make failure a necessary condition for its future realisation.

Mobinomics
Author: Alan Knott-Craig
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781920434366
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 0
Book Description
In these crisscrossing threads are woven the fabric of a community, a society, an economy, a nation. And beyond that, the world itself. But the technology isn't the dream. The dream is what you can do with it.' Three revolutions changed the face of South Africa, the economic powerhouse of the African continent, in 1994. The first was democracy, as millions of newly-enfranchised citizens went to the polls to elect a new government. The second was the internet, bringing information, learning and entertainment into millions of homes. But the real signal of change in the air was the arrival of an electronic device that would put undreamed-of power into the hands of the people. The cellular phone. In a country where less than four per cent of the population had access to a landline phone, mobile telephony opened the gateway to new ways and new worlds of communication. Today, more than 90 per cent of South Africans own at least one mobile phone, and they're not just using them to talk to each other. Mobiles have become tools of education, entrepreneurship, trade, empowerment, activism, media and upliftment. With the advent of the mobile internet, mobiles have also become the hubs of the most powerful force in modern communication. The social network, bringing people together in an interchange of ideas, opinions, chatter and commerce that is changing the way we understand and define communities. This is the story of the biggest and fastest-growing social network in Africa. A network that took shape in the townships of the Western Cape and has grown to be part of the lives of more than 50 million users in 120 countries, sending more than 23 billion messages a month. This is the story of Mxit. A cultural force, a community of millions, with its own economy, its own infrastructure, its own language and its own traditions. This is the story of Mobinomics, the new economy of mobile, and how it is connecting people and changing lives. Read it and learn. Read it and understand. Read it and be moved by the power of mobile.

Reflections of South African Student Leaders: 1994 to 2017
Author: Ntokozo Bhengu
Publisher: African Books Collective
ISBN: 1928502105
Category : Education
Languages : en
Pages : 350
Book Description
Reflections of South African Student Leaders 1994-2017 brings together the reflections of twelve former SRC leaders from across the landscape of South African universities. Reviews of the previous volume, 1981-2014 suggested that it contributed significantly to a better understanding of the stringent demands of visionary and transformative leadership required by university leaders in the fastchanging and increasingly complex public higher education sector. This volume is based on comprehensive interviews with former student leaders, each of whom provided a personal account in their own words of their experience in the position of student leadership. The interviewees are from different backgrounds and of diverse political persuasions. The book is important for current and future leaders of higher education institutions as it provides insights into the thinking, aspirations, desires, fears and modus operandi of student leaders. Such insight can contribute to developing and implementing appropriate strategies for achieving meaningful and constructive engagement with current and future student leaders.
