Book Description
An event that rises and falls in the peak value of the amplitude of a certain data as measured through the data acquisition process is known as fluctuation. Fluctuations usually occur because the data obtained during the acquisition process is mixed with noise. Therefore, an analytical approach is needed that can process signal fluctuations to identify the characteristics of a material. This study uses an object made of H2O material used as a measurement platform or footing. The other ingredients are H2O mixed with HCl and H2O mixed with NaOH. The initial processing approach is related to the material identification system using a capacitive sensor based on the Impedance Spectroscopy (SI) method. This study aims to develop a method for processing multi-frequency signal fluctuations resulting from data acquisition of Multi-Spectral Capacitive Sensors (MSCS). An approach to representing the observed fluctuations in data acquisition results is based on the statistical mean and standard deviation of the observed noise spectral in a large number of data sets. The results of signal fluctuations are divided into several types, namely: Mean Fluctuation (MF), High Fluctuation (HF), and High High-Fluctuation (HHF). Several approaches are taken for processing fluctuations, such as the data consistency process to see the stability of the data from the initial processing stage. Next is the stage of grouping data with several new approach methods. Another method that we use is the segmentation method which uses several filters that can divide some signals in the form of fluctuation patterns into several segments. From several approach methods that have been carried out, the results show that some of these methods can identify multi-spectral fluctuation patterns so that it will be easier for the next identification process.

The Orienting Reflex in Humans
Author: H. D. Kimmel
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1000394794
Category : Psychology
Languages : en
Pages : 566
Book Description
Originally published in 1979, the world’s leading researchers contributed chapters describing their work on the orienting reflex in humans. The contributions, at the time current and comprehensive, in a sense that each facet of contemporary research was represented, address the orienting reflex, now recognized as a fundamental component of human learning and cognitive function. The authors contributing to this volume emphasize both theoretical and methodological issues, as well as present more empirical research. Here is a volume that spans all current work on the orienting reflex in humans, both basic and applied, from the laboratory as well as clinical data, and which would be of immense interest to psychologists, psychophysiologists, psychiatrists, physiologists, and all others interested in this fascinating topic.

Metadata-driven Software Systems in Biomedicine
Author: Prakash M. Nadkarni
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 0857295101
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 411
Book Description
While the use of database technology is ubiquitous throughout IT (and health IT in particular), it is not generally appreciated that, as a database increases in scope, certain designs are far superior to others. In biomedical domains, new knowledge is being generated continually, and the databases that must support areas such as clinical care and research must also be able to evolve while requiring minimal or no logical / physical redesign. Appropriately designed metadata, and software designed to utilize it effectively, can provide significant insulation against change. Many of the larger EMR or clinical research database vendors have realized this, but their designs are proprietary and not described in the literature. Consequently, numerous misconceptions abound among individuals who have not had to work with large-scale biomedical systems, and graduates of a health or bioinformatics program may find that they need to unlearn what they were taught in database and software design classes in order to work productively with such systems. A working knowledge of such systems is also important for individuals who are not primarily software developers, such as health informaticians, medical information officers and data analysts. This book is, in a sense, intended to prepare all of the above individuals for the real world.
