Book Description
Excerpt from The Silences of the Master Earth, these solid stars, this weight of body and limb. Are they not sign and symbol of thy division from Him? Dark is the world to thee: thyself art the reason why; For is He not all but that which has power to feel, "I am I?" Glory about thee, without thee; and thou fulfillest thy doom, Making Him broken gleams, and a stifled splendor and gloom. Speak to Him thou, for He hears, and Spirit with Spirit can meet - Closer is He than breathing, and nearer than hands and feet. - Tennyson, "The Higher Pantheism." Book Description
Excerpt from The Master of Silence: A Romance I had often heard my father speak of my uncle Revis, who went to America almost twenty years before I was born. N ow he was my nearest living relative. No news of him had reached us for many years before my father died. I was familiar with his handwrit ing and the specimen before me was either genuine, or remarkably like it. If genuine he had evidently not heard of my father's death. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Description
At the Feet of the Master was the first book published by Jiddu Krishnamurti. Written when he was 14 under the name "Alcyone" and published in 1910, it has been translated into 40 languages. There has been some debate over whether the author was Krishnamurti or his mentor C.W. Leadbeater. Krishnamurti never said that he wrote the work, and in the foreword he says: "These are not my own words but of the Master who taught me." He was referring to Leadbeater's claim that the Master Kuthumi was releasing the instruction to the young boy during the night while he was asleep. The book is considered a theosophical classic.

Book Description
Excerpt from Greek Prose Composition Part I contains, in graded lessons, the principal points of Greek syntax, the unusual and non-essential being purposely omitted. These lessons are designed for use at the beginning of the second year's study of Greek, thereby serving as a partial review of the first year's work and as an introduction to the composition work in connection with the reading of Xenophon's Anabasis. Part II contains short, simple English sentences, based on Books I - IV of the Anabasis. These should be used daily in connection with the reading of the text. Part III contains connected English prose, based on Books I - IV of the Anabasis. This is carefully graded, so that the stu dent who performs faithfully the work outlined here will be able to pass the entrance examination of any of the American colleges. The method of writing Greek at sight used in this book needs a word of explanation. It is the outgrowth of the author's personal experience in the classroom, and his belief that the best results can be obtained only by systematic practice in connection with the regular work. Book Description
Excerpt from The Sacrifice of Silence Emerson somewhere, and truly, observes that there is a strange power in silence. But there are many kinds of silence. This has been tritely attested from time immemorial by axioms and epigrams laudatory of timely mutism as being at once one of the virtues of the wise, the ornament and safeguard of the ignorant, and an efficacious element of repute, whether deserved or not. Then there is that silence, "the child of love, which expresses everything and proclaims more loudly than tongue is able to do;" which is "the ecstatic bliss of souls that by intelligence converse." The particular phases of silence of which M. Rod treats have nothing in common with these, save incidentally with that which is the so eloquent offspring of love. Book Description
In this new millennium, the promise of intrigue continues to captivate audiences. In THE MASTER COPY, that same hypnotic passion abounds. A fictional narrative, its plot radiates around an illegally cloned man on trial for the deaths of a wealthy East Coast couple and the son of a prominent state official. The clone's creator, a now aging scientist, unlocked the secret of recreating the total human genome years before its present day advent, and circumvented the laws of God and man to clone Jesus Christ from a dated DNA sample. In the ensuing conflict, the lead defense attorney encounters unrelenting obstacles, which involve ransom demand and murder, and remains stalemated until climactic revelations occur. The prosecutor, compelled to maintain a near-perfect legal record, disregards moral values until startling evidence is discovered and an emotional encounter forces him to relinquish the fight. THE MASTER COPY constructs a web of associations, utilizing contemporary dialogue to develop the plot and draw the reader into the cathartic ending. However, its premise remains the most intriguing aspect, as it renews an awareness of the prophesized perils facing mankind at the end of the world, and raises the disquieting notion that this controversial story is conceivable
