Book Description
When a child paints their nails with their mom's nail polish, they discover the most important thing of all: the magic of being their true self. As the long late summer day stretches ahead of them, a child eagerly looks forward to their favorite time--painting-your-nails time. They know that when they dip into those magical bottles of nail polish, they will discover a color to express their every mood and feeling. Purple is the color of magic and mystery. White is the color of endless possibilities. At times, their Papa frowns and says, "What have you done to your nails?" At other times, he says, "Why don't you paint on paper instead?" But the child knows that painting their nails makes their hands look beautiful. An inclusive celebration of creative expression, this color-filled story celebrates the joy of finding out who you are and the courage it takes to be yourself.

The book covers a period from the 1840s to 1905, and shows how the love relationships of the Brangwens change against the backdrop of the increasing industrialization of Britain. The book covers a period from the 1840s to 1905, and shows how the love relationships of the Brangwens change against the backdrop of the increasing industrialization of Britain. "Women in Love" is a sequel to novel The Rainbow, and follows lives of the Brangwen sisters, Ursula a schoolteacher, and Gudrun a painter. They meet two men who live nearby, school inspector Rupert Birkin and Gerald Crich, heir to a coal-mine, and the four become friends. Ursula and Birkin begin a romantic friendship, while Gudrun and Gerald eventually begin a love affair. The emotional relationships thus established are given further depth and tension by an intense psychological and physical attraction between Gerald and Rupert. All four are deeply concerned with questions of society, politics, and the relationship between men and women. The novel ranges over the whole of British society before the time of the First World War and eventually concludes in the snows of the Tyrolean Alps.
