We will be told that our future will depend on making an all-around compromise, and that we must so regulate the demands on our economy that our organs will be called upon to do but a mere fraction of their former work, or be obliged to exhibit but a small fraction of their former resistance. We will be advised to take ourselves off to Southern California and go into its climatic stocks or in its atmospheric dry-dock for repairs. How much repair can be made will greatly depend on how soon we go into dock after noticing signs of a breakdown. None come too early.
