In most of the novels and stories of the detective is Watson who tells the story. In this he also narrates it thanks to his memories and his notes. But that's not what I mean. In this installment, Watson is responsible for an important part of the investigation.From what I've read, the author was fed up with Holmes taking up all his time and decided to kill him. However, after Holmes died with his archenemy in The Final Problem, Holmes's followers protested that he would return.It was not until the author heard the story on which this novel is based, when he decided to resuscitate our beloved detective. I say resuscitate because, although this novel is written chronologically after he wrote his death, it takes place sometime before Holmes died. After this novel, the followers of Holmes went crazy and the author had to truly resurrect his character.That's why I think that in this novel the author decides to hide Holmes a little and give Watson more prominence, which gives him a different touch.In addition to the role of Watson, something that makes him very interesting is the place where the events take place.
