Book Description
The book that has already been seen on Good Morning Britain, The One Show, talked about in The Daily Mail, The Daily Express and The Sun. Anthony Blackie knows what he’s talking about when he comes to marriage... Drawing upon his own experiences in his long marriage, Anthony Blackie reveals how we can survive married life in his debut, true story The Squashed Man Who Married A Dragon. “Argue not, praise her often, second-guess her every command and shower her with compliments as you rush to do her every bidding.” For some, marriage is painless and natural, but for Antony, known as the squashed man, who has fought every inch of the way, happiness is hard to find. Although his wife, Vicki, is described as beautiful and gifted, it seems marriage moulds her into an overbearing dragon who does not let anything go. In The Squashed Man Who Married a Dragon, the brave Antony tells his own story of what marriage is really like and offers some helpful tips for those who are experiencing tough, married life! This story can be read as a cautionary tale of warning for the young or equally will appeal to those who have experienced challenging, married life themselves and can relate Anthony’s comical tales! Are you the downtrodden, squashed man or the devious dragon in your marriage? If so, this book is for you!

Book Description
The married couple is still missing. They are still presumed dead. Jack Dorcha, the single greatest entrepreneur in modern Scotland, visits one by one the descendants of the men who cast him into the sea. Chase, the inimical and crime-writing uncle jounces Wren, the former black-letter law judge, from his doddering Lethe. Chase chisels away at dragooning Wren the second time to re-visit, re-investigate, and re-analyse the suspects. Chase adjures Wren that all of those who may have been implicated be raked over the coals. But this time it is an altogether different ball game. Insidiously the tables are being turned. Wren is vitrified. Wren runs counter to Chase. Wren exacts revenge on Glasson Dorcha by obtruding him to endure the reality of his own perceived sense of imprisonment and mutilation. Wren evens the score with Belay by foxing to expel him, the tormented worldly-wise employer of judges, his disgracious employer, motionlessly into the nadir of his self-tormented cocoon by envenoming his meal ticket and eviscerating his theorem regarding the concupiscence for the man he loves. He determines to ruin, imprison, or kill Chase, and immolate his own family. He eyeballs Chase with the significant chance that he was the culprit. Wren unglues Chase with his own pharisaical stance on his own ipseity. Finally, Jack Dorcha returns in person to avenge Wren and Chase. Who will win this time? The wrathful retired special adjudicator, the absinthal employer of torture judges, the inimical crime-writing uncle, the usurious mercenary Jack Dorcha, the now ungovernable gangster in Glasgow, the stochastic new murderer or one of the pertinacious suspects?

Book Description
What Is Love? In this thoughtful, provocative work, Osho—one of the most revolutionary thinkers of our time—challenges us to question what we think we know about love and opens us to the possibility of a love that is natural, fulfilling, and free of possessiveness and jealousy. With his characteristic wit, humor, and understanding, Osho dares us to resist the unhealthy relationship patterns we’ve learned from those around us, and to rediscover the meaning of love for ourselves. “By the time you are ready to explore the world of love, you are filled with so much rubbish about love that there is not much hope for you to be able to find the authentic and discard the false.” By answering the questions that so many lovers face, Osho shares new ways to love that will forever change how you relate to others, including how to: • Love without clinging • Let go of expectations, rules, and demands • Free yourself from the fear of being alone • Be fully present in your relationships • Keep your love fresh and alive • Become a life partner with whom someone could continue to grow and change • Surrender your ego so you can surrender to love Being in Love will inspire you to welcome love into your life anew and experience the joy of being truly alive by sharing it.

Book Description
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, ideals of technological progress and mass consumerism shaped the print cultures of countries across the globe. Magazines in Europe, the USA, Latin America, and Asia inflected a shared internationalism and technological optimism. But there were equally powerful countervailing influences, of patriotic or insurgent nationalism, and of traditionalism, that promoted cultural differentiation. In their editorials, images, and advertisements magazines embodied the tensions between these domestic imperatives and the forces of global modernity. Magazines and Modern Identities explores how these tensions played out in the magazine cultures of ten different countries, describing how publications drew on, resisted, and informed the ideals and visual forms of global modernism. Chapters take in the magazines of Australia, Europe and North America, as well as China, The Soviet Turkic states, and Mexico. With contributions from leading international scholars, the book considers the pioneering developments in European and North American periodicals in the modernist period, whilst expanding the field of enquiry to take in the vibrant magazine cultures of east Asia and Latin America. The construction of these magazines' modern ideals was a complex, dialectical process: in dialogue with international modernism, but equally responsive to their local cultures, and the beliefs and expectations of their readers. Magazines and Modern Identities captures the diversity of these ideals, in periodicals that both embraced and criticised the globalised culture of the technological era.

Book Description
In this original study British rule in Burma is examined through quotidian acts of corruption. Saha outlines a novel way to study the colonial state as it was experienced in everyday life, revealing a complex world of state practices where legality and illegality were inseparable: the informal world upon which formal colonial power rested.
