The German Pinscher is a medium-sized breed of dog that is a member of the Pinscher typing. The breed is also commonly known as the 'Deutscher Pinscher' in reference to its country of origin, Germany. The German Pinscher is included in the origins for the Dobermann Pinscher, the Rottweiler, the Miniature Pinscher, the Affenpinscher and the Standard Schnauzer. The German Pinscher has been shown in dog book since the early 1880s, but drawings of the breed date back all the way to the early 1780s.
