Book Description
Excerpt from The Coal Resources of the Clintwood and Bucu Quadrangles, Virginia The survey upon which this report is based was undertaken primarily because of the great potential value of the coal resources of the region and the lack of knowledge concerning them, even among the inhabitants of the area. This report is preliminary and is issued in advance of the preparation of engraved geologic maps in order to meet demands for immediate infor mation. It is planned to include in a later report engraved maps, showing geologic formations and structure, coal outcrops, topography, drainage, and culture on the same sheet.
