An x prefixed to a number signifies that the name thus marked is made the subgect of a paragraph further on in the book, where it will be found with the individ ual's number printed above it. Directly to the right of the name is placed a small figure, which indicates the generation. Adjoining, printed within brackets, are given the names and numbers of the male ancestors.
