Book Description
[Abstract] This research topic explores the question, "What is the experience of women discovering the need to create balance in their lives?" Personal experiences are described using the heuristic research model. A literature review of books, journals, theses and dissertations revealed that no similar study had been completed. Data was based on the experience of eight co-researchers as well as the personal experience of the researcher. All co-researchers were women adddressing issues of balance in their lives. Each interview was tape-recorded, transcribed and reviewed for major themes of the experience of discovering the need to create balance. The identified themes were: I. Emotional and physical responses; II. Events or crisis that lead to desire to change; III. An awareness that old beliefs were not working; IV. A journey inward to understand the new awareness; V. A new acceptance of the self. The themes explored the struggle and challenge of maintaining balance in one's life while parenting and maintaining a career or education. The findings of this study could be utilized by clinicians and educators dealing in the psychology of women. The material in this research may also be of value in the understanding and awareness of how societal expectations affect the lives of women today.

This volume presents research on women’s experiences, attitudes and perceptions, considering their work roles and in the context of their lives outside work. The research presented here is varied and the methods used include cross-sectional and longitudinal research, reviews of literature, as well as experiences and practical suggestions from clinical, organisational, health and occupational health psychologists, in addition to occupational safety and health practitioners. It looks at women who are part-time employees, those in vulnerable positions in the informal economy to women in mainstream, full-time employment. The chapters present theoretical underpinnings of how, what, when and where women approach work options, approach life and approach living. The overarching factor that links these chapters is the focus on women as a vital resource in the world economy, with an exploration of the options that are available to them and how these could be maximised to retain a productive and healthy female workforce.

The Discovery of Life
Author: Christopher Alan Anderson
Publisher: First Edition Design Pub.
ISBN: 1622872037
Category : Family & Relationships
Languages : en
Pages : 90
Book Description
This writing chronicles the paradigm shift that each of us must undergo to enter into a full (procreative) consciousness of life, upon which true success and connection in life can then follow. "A man and a woman meet and a miracle occurs--a new life is formed. The miracle of life is held within their balance and love. Life, all of life, is held within their balance and love." The Discovery of Life Author Bio: Christopher Alan Anderson (1950 - ) received the basis of his education from the University of Science and Philosophy, Swannanoa, Waynesboro, Virginia. He resides in the transcendental/romantic tradition, that vein of spiritual creativity of the philosopher and poet. His quest has been to define and express an eternal romantic reality from which a man and a woman could together stand in their difference and create a living universe of procreative love. Mr. Anderson began these writings in 1971. The first writings were published in 1985. On a personal note, when Mr. Anderson was asked to describe the writings and what he felt their message was he responded, "Spiritual procreation. Mankind has yet to distinguish the two sexes on the spiritual level. In this failure lies the root of our problems and why we cannot yet touch the eternal together. The message of man and woman balance brings each of us together in love with our eternal other half right now." keywords: Life, Procreation, Consciousness, Paradigm Shift, Metaphysics, Spirituality
