English money) per acre, freehold of inheritance to the purchaser and his posterity for everl With regard to the prices of stock, we would merely Observe, that a good milch cow, with a calf by her side, can be had at from 2. To 3. Horses from 6. To 12. Breeding sows from, 65. To sheep about the same price. Fowls from 33. To 43. Per dozen, _and working men. Being ever scarce, and, as it appears, not the less scarce for many going, because every one aims to be his own employer, and rather makes employment for others, than takes it out of the market wages are good, and kept good, and no worse (as is the case here) for provisions being cheap. Thus it is that a poor man is enabled to get up in life there rather than down, as is every where the casein drained and exhausted England.
