The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1966, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee primarily in Los Angeles, California, in August 1966. The final section of this volume consists of messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in October and November 1966. From the middle of July to the end of September, Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles. At the beginning of October he began a six-month visit to the Far East, including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 3 through 6. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Exercise of Our Spirit. 2. Five messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 9 through 26. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Way to Enjoy Christ as the Word and the Spirit. 3. Nine messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 13 through 18. These messages are included in this volume under the title Practicing the Oneness according to the Heavenly Vision of the Body of Christ. 4. Seven messages given in Los Angeles, California, from August 23 through 26 and September 6. They are included in this section under the title The Way to Bear Fruit. The first six messages were previously published in The Ministry magazine in volume 3, number 9 through volume 4, number 5. 5. Six messages given in Los Angeles, California, on August 9 through 20. These messages are included in this volume under the title Additional Words in Response to the Testing and Testimonies of the Saints during the 1966 Summer Training in Los Angeles. 6. Fifteen messages given during the summer training in Los Angeles, California, from August 4 through 25. These messages were edited and previously published in a thirteen-chapter book entitled The Divine Spirit with the Human Spirit in the Epistles. 7. One message spoken at the conclusion of the summer conference and training in Los Angeles, California, on August 26. This message is included in this section under the title Enjoying the Riches of Christ to Bear Much Fruit as the Body of Christ, Standing on the Unique Ground of Oneness. 8. Seventeen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 6 through 12 and November 1 and 11. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 2, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from April 6 through July 7, 1963, with the exception of messages he gave in a series on the Gospel of John, which are published in Life-study of John (not included in The Collected Works). In the first part of April, Brother Lee was in Los Angeles. At the end of that month he visited San Diego, California, and then returned to Los Angeles for most of May. At the end of May and the first part of June he visited Christian groups in Sacramento, California, and in Eugene, Salem, and Portland, Oregon, before giving a conference in San Francisco. For the remainder of the period he was in Los Angeles. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given at a conference in Los Angeles on April 12 through 14. These messages have been published under the title The Four Major Steps of Christ. The published book consists of four chapters. 2. Ten messages given at a conference in San Diego on April 23 through 27. These messages have been published under the title God's Intention concerning Christ and the Church. 3. Four messages given in Los Angeles in Lord's Day morning meetings in May and June. These messages are included in this volume under the title Lord's Day Morning Messages. 4. A series of messages composed from personal notes taken by several individuals in various meetings held throughout the period. These include nine messages given in Los Angeles on Saturday mornings from April 6 through May 25; two messages given in Sacramento on May 30; and a report given in Los Angeles on June 14 concerning Brother Lee's visit to the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Speakings. Brother Lee gave two additional messages in Sacramento on Lord's Day, June 2, of which there is no record. 5. Seven fellowship meetings held with the leading ones in Los Angeles and Chula Vista, California, from April 21 through June 24. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Leading Ones. The contents were composed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. 6. Eight messages given in Eugene, Salem, and Portland on June 4 through 9. These messages have been published under the title The Living That Fulfills God's Eternal Purpose. One message was given in Eugene, one in Salem, and six in Portland. According to the record of these meetings, Brother Lee gave a second message in Salem on the subject of "Following the Lord in the Spirit," but the record of this message is not available. 7. Three messages given at a conference in San Francisco on June 11 through 13. These messages are included in this volume under the title Transformation for God's Building. 8. Fourteen messages given in Los Angeles on June 29 through July 7. These messages have been published under the title The Central Thought of God.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from April 4 through August 9, 1969. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, in early April Brother Lee made a brief visit to Waco, Texas, and at the beginning of May he visited San Francisco. At the end of May he traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico; and then to Erie, Pennsylvania; Toronto, Canada; and Erie, Pennsylvania, a second time. Regrettably, there is no record of Brother Lee's speaking in his first visit to Erie and in his visit to Toronto. He returned to Los Angeles at the beginning of July and remained there until the end of August. The contents of this volume are divided into nine sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given in Waco, Texas, on April 4 through 6. These messages are included in this section under the title Experiencing and Enjoying the All-inclusive, Compound Spirit for the Building Up of the Church as God's Dwelling Place. The recording of one of the six messages appears to have been lost. 2. Seven messages given in San Francisco, California, on May 2 through 4. They are included in this volume under the title Praising God with Christ as the Content by Our Experiencing and Enjoying Him. 3. Nine messages given in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from May 31 through June 5. These messages are included in this volume under the title Practicing the Church Life by Exercising the Spirit. 4. Two messages given in Erie, Pennsylvania, on June 28. These messages were given near the end of a longer conference that began on June 19. Regrettably, there is no record of Brother Lee's speaking from June 19 through 27. The two recorded messages are included in this section under the title TheRecovery of the Local Churches with the Sevenfold Spirit. 5. Ten messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 4 through 13. They were originally published in The Stream, volume 7, number 4, November 1, 1969; and volume 8, number 1, February 1, 1970; and number 2, May 1, 1970, under the title The Seven Spirits for the Local Churches. 6. Eight messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 4 through 12, 1969. They were originally published in The Stream, volume 8, number 2, May 1, 1970; number 3, August 1, 1970; and number 4, November 1, 1970, under the title The Recovery of God's House and God's City. 7. Eighteen messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 16 through August 15, 1969. They were previously published in a sixteen-chapter book under the title The Crucial Revelation of Life in the Scriptures. 8. Five messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 17 through August 14.
