Book Description
Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2012 in the subject Chemistry - Anorganic Chemistry, University of Mosul (Dental college), language: English, abstract: A series of new complex salts of the type [A]2[MCl2I2] where A=1,3,5-trimethylpyridinium cation, M= Mn+2,Co+2, Ni+2,Cu+2 and Zn+2 were prepared by the reaction of the metal chloride and 1,3,5-trimethylpyridinium iodide in (1:2) molar ratio and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR, Uv/Vis., spectral studies and magnetic measurements. The crystal structure of 1,3,5-trimethylpyridinuim iodide was determined by single crystal x-ray crystallography. The structure of the anion part and a 1,3,5- trimethylpyridinium cation which crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group (Cmcm) with a=8.9850(9), b=15.767(2), c=6.9940(6)A°, V=990.82 (16)A°, Z=4. Which is on a crystallographic mirror plane perpendicular to C-axis except for methyl hydrogen atoms. The anion and cation are connected through hydrogen bonds between I and the cation by hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interaction and weak π-π interaction are also expected.

Book Description
Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2012 in the subject Chemistry - Materials Chemistry, grade: None, , language: English, abstract: Syntheses of all the three groups of materials (NZP, CZP and Perovskite) have been successfully carried out by solid state ceramic route resulting in the formation of single phase high density material in all the cases. Preliminary characterization was carried out by X-ray diffraction followed by complete crystal characterization by Rietveld method. Their crystal chemistry has been investigated using software’s like CRYSFIRE, Check cell, Winploter etc. Finally, structures have been refined to a satisfactory convergence using GSAS software. The structure model in each case has been given with the help of graphics software’s like PLATON, Crystal maker, Diamond and ORTEP etc. Particle size calculation using Scherrer’s formula suggest that crystallite size along prominent reflections belongs to nano range in most of the synthetic phases. On the basis of results emerged after Rietveld refinement of each group of materials.

Book Description
Heteropolyacids as Highly Efficient and Green Catalysts Applied in Organic Transformations introduces heteropolyacids (HPAs) as promising candidates for use as green catalysts. This book initially presents an overview of chemistry of HPAs, including the history of their discovery and applications, systematic classifications, solubility, coordination and binding chemistry, isomerization, stability, redox activity, acidic properties, basicity, skeleton structure, structure types, self-assemblage, surface area, electrochemical behavior, methods of investigation, and characterization. Other sections present and compare the applications of HPAs as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. The book provides readers with a basic-to-advanced range of knowledge on how useful and green HPAs can be used for use as catalysts in organic transformations and even the synthesis of complex organic molecules. - Focuses on applications of HPAs as catalysts, but also includes basic information on HPAs to make it useful to those researchers and scientists whose activities are focused on biochemical analysis, electrochemistry, electrochemical devices, protection of corrosion, medicine and photo-catalyzed reactions - Includes a subdivision devoted to HPA-catalyzed multicomponent reactions for the synthesis of some biologically active compounds via a double-green strategy - Illustrates reactions with approximately 100 chemical reaction schemes to aid understanding

Book Description
This book offers a comprehensive overview of the most recent developments in both total oxidation and combustion and also in selective oxidation. For each topic, fundamental aspects are paralleled with industrial applications. The book covers oxidation catalysis, one of the major areas of industrial chemistry, outlining recent achievements, current challenges and future opportunities. One distinguishing feature of the book is the selection of arguments which are emblematic of current trends in the chemical industry, such as miniaturization, use of alternative, greener oxidants, and innovative systems for pollutant abatement. Topics outlined are described in terms of both catalyst and reaction chemistry, and also reactor and process technology.

Book Description
By browsing about 10 000 000 scientific articles of over 200 major journals mainly in a 'cover to cover approach' some 200 000 publications were selected. The extracted data is part of the following fundamental material research fields: crystal structures (S), phase diagrams (also called constitution) (C) and the comprehensive field of intrinsic physical properties (P). This work has been done systematically starting with the literature going back to 1900. The above mentioned research field codes (S, C, P) as well as the chemical systems investigated in each publication were included in the present work. The aim of the Inorganic Substances Bibliography is to provide researchers with a comprehensive compilation of all up to now published scientific publications on inorganic systems in only three handy volumes.

Book Description
The most amazing field of modern inorganic chemistry is co-ordination chemistry. From last four decades, co-ordination chemistry created its own identity in the Inorganic chemistry. The co-ordinate compounds also referred as complexes is a combination of ligand or chelating agent with metal ions through co-ordinate bonds. Ligands are covalent bonded organic molecules containing lone pair or lone pairs of electrons on heteroatom in the organic moiety. As metal ions are electron deficient so these form co-ordinate bonding between metal ion and ligand. The behaviour of metal ion with different ligands depends upon the sterric hindrance, structure, various substituent and nature of bonding present in ligands as well as screening effect, Kernal effect, atomic number oxidation state of metal ion. It was also observed in complexes that there are primary as well as secondary valencies.
