Book Description
Many factors impact a city's water consumption, including population distribution, average household income, water prices, water conservation programs, and climate. In this study, the effects of fare policy for water consumption in Manresa, Catalunya, were examined during the period from 2001 to 2018. In this project, we developed an application to discover the relation between the water fare policy and water demand. It can help us become more proactive and make better decisions about water management. The correlation analysis found that the fare policy has an impact on yearly water consumption. Our results indicate that the higher the fare policy, the lower the water consumption. Apart from the correlation analysis between the fare policy and the water demand. In the shiny application. The water demand forecast also has been carried out with 8 popular time-series model (ARIMA, ETS, Naïve, Neural, BATS, TBATS, STLM and STS). The application can be adapted and utilized for other correlation analysis from the other dataset, also the long-term forecasting of water demand in other regions.

Book Description
Utilities often experience difficulty planning and designing distribution systems to meet spatial water demands. Water system demand characteristics (quantity, quality, timing, and location) drive many distribution system management, operation, and design decisions. Characteristics such as average-annual use, maximum-day use, maximum-hour use, and fire-flow requirements constrain the makeup, size, and timing of distribution system modifications and expansions. Although sophisticated network models are often used to design and analyze distribution system modifications and expansions, these models traditionally treat nodal demand characteristics as a fixed parameter. In many cases, the spatial distribution of water demand is not well defined. The goals of the project were to * assess existing tools and methodologies used for identification, prediction, and spatial allocation of water demands for distribution system planning and design * make use of state-of-the-art technologies, water consumption data, and other regional data to develop improved empirical depictions of the spatial distribution of water demand * develop common tools and methodologies for predicting and allocating demand in water distribution planning and design models * describe methods for quantifying uncertainties associated with water demand predictions that are used for system planning and design. The project produced practical approaches to working with utility consumption data for developing spatial demand allocation in water distribution modeling and system planning. Furthermore, the researchers introduced innovative statistical methods (e.g., robust statistics, continuous time functional form, and fixed effects methodology). The researchers also explained the potential applications of spatial demand allocation to distribution planning.

Book Description
Forecasting water demand requires quantifying potential relationships between relevant statistics and ambient conditions such as water price and weather. Dr Enouy (2018) demonstrates that discrete histograms can be parameterized into continuous probability density functions. Consistent parametrization allows regression analysis to be applied to the PDF statistics, thus able to reproduce PDFs through time. This work briefly introduces Dr Enouy's (2018) methodology and mainly investigates the applicability of this method. It formalizes the implementation details of residential water application in terms of data culling, optimization and regression analysis. A modified version of this method is employed as an adaptation to the analysis of commercial water demand. This thesis also discusses the possibility of employing the scheme of software development, to assure the robustness and correctness of this implementation.
