Book Description
Nanophotonics: Integrating Photochemistry, Optics and Nano/Bio Materials Studies. Is an interdisciplinary research text on the application of nanophotonic (physical/chemical) research and effects in devices for applications, bridging a gap between conventional pthotophysics/photochemistry and nanoscience. Nanophotonics is a new wide research field related to photochemistry, photobiology, and photophysics in nanodimension. Under the keywords of "Photo" and "Nano", advanced scientific topics, such as spectroscopic analysis of from single molecules to nanomaterials, nanofabrication by photons, detection of single bio-molecules, near field optics, and so forth, are described here. The book is written by experts in the field of photochemistry, optics, material science, bioscience, and so on for providing advanced knowledge of nanophotonics. Nanophotonics is a new research field that is not included in any conventional discipline but widely cover evolving and promising research subjects under the keywords of "Light" and "Nanoscale". Topics included in the book are concerned with photodynamics: from single molecules to nanoparticles, spectroscopy and imaging in nanodimensions, nanofabrication, synthesis, analysis and control of nano/bio systems and so on, the book is finalized by topics of toward molecular nanophotonics. This is written primarily for graduate students, researchers, and engineers.

Book Description
The use of polymer thin films is currently implemented in almost every aspect of modern life due to their cost-efficiency, lightness, flexibility, and unique physical and chemical properties. The reason for focusing research into polymer thin films is to understand their thermodynamic and kinetic mechanisms, such as interfacial interactions, flow behavior, film formation, relationships between deposition process parameters and the film structure, and other advanced functional properties. Thin polymer film research focuses on a wide range of industrial applications, including energy technologies, optics, sensors, microelectronics, medicine, biotechnology, etc. This Special Issue highlights and discusses studies on the formation of polymer films, their morphological analysis, and their use in various applications, including sensors, antifouling coatings, and coatings for harnessing solar energy. In addition, this Special Issue also includes two review papers on the latest research on polymer-waveguide-based optical sensors and the integration of antifouling and anti-cavitation coatings on propellers.

Book Description
Our knowledge of the photodegradation of polymers, chemical evolution, photosynthesis, visual perception and the biological effects of light depends heavily on our ability to elucidate the primary photochemical processes of macromolecules. This volume brings together for the first time from the fields of natural as well as synthetic polymers a group of reports dealing with macromolecular photochemistry. Since macromolecular photo chemistry is an expanding new field that crosses the boundaries between classical disciplines, the reader will encounter the employment of diverse scientific approaches and unfamiliar terminology. However, it has become increasingly apparent that researchers in these fields have much to learn from each other. Although this book is not intended to give a detailed survey of the photochemistry of macromolecules. it does represent the editor's perspective on the relationship between theory, kinetic studies and the synthesis aspects of photochemistry. The ideas expressed by the contributors offer a valuable com posite of theoretical and experimental approaches for those who are concerned with problems which have photochemical relevance, and show that investigators from different fields share many concepts and perhaps some common problems. This novel array of present knowledge should provide a basis for organizing and understanding photochemical information from chemistry, physics, biology and medicine. While of particular value to the research worker, the book also should be of interest to the graduate student about to embark on a problem in macromolecular photo chemistry.
