Book Description
The Practical Art of Spiritual Conversation is about the art of when, if, and how to engage in a spiritual conversation. The whens and the ifs inform the how. Christians can be so concerned with how to share the gospel that they often fail to consider where the person is spiritually and when, or even if, they should share the gospel. To be sure, the Scriptures are clear that followers of Christ must spread the good news. Yet there are times when sharing the gospel would be undeniably inappropriate. How, then, do gospel-centered, evangelistic Christians discern when to share Christ or when to stay silent? What determines when and if someone is even ready to hear the gospel? How does one meaningfully engage a person who has already accepted the gospel? Refined through tens of thousands of spiritual encounters, this book provides a helpful framework for discerning where a person is spiritually and how to encourage each person to take a step toward Christ regardless of where they may presently be in their faith journey. You will be equipped in the practical art of spiritual conversation so that you can meaningfully encourage every person to take a step toward Christ.

Book Description
“Wealth without work Pleasure without conscience Science without humanity Knowledge without character Politics without principle Commerce without morality Worship without sacrifice. https://vidjambov.blogspot.com/2023/01/book-inventory-vladimir-djambov-talmach.html Some of the greatest texts of Christian mysticism are attributed to Macarius the Great. “Spiritual Conversations” represent the highest example of “mysticism of the heart” – one of the two great traditions of the Ancient Church, the meaning of which is expressed in the words pf the “Conversations”: “We tasted God, we had experience” – that is, a living direct experience of communion with God. “Not a theological argument. Rather … intimate confessions of the contemplator, teaching and edifying from personal experience,” as defined by G. Florovsky. “Spiritual Conversations” were often accused of messianism: however, the truly ecclesiastical character of “Spiritual Conversations” betrays an emphasis on the central role of Christ, on His Presence in the Eucharist, that is, in the Church. The unity of Christians, the “shining brothers” of Christ, is realized in the Church. “The inexpressible and incomprehensible God – in His goodness – humbled Himself; He clothed Himself with the members of this visible body, and hid from His own inaccessible glory; in His mercy and love-for-mankind He transforms, incarnates Himself, enters into unity with and accepts saints, who are pleasing and faithful, becoming, as Ap. Paul says, “one Spirit” with them (1 Cor. 6:17) –soul to soul and face to face, so to speak, soul, and being hypostatic, so that a soul worthy of God and pleasing to Him could live in renewal and experience an immortal life, and become a partaker of imperishable glory. For He brought this visible creature from non-being into being in some great variety and with many differences, and it did not exist until it was brought into being. He willed, and easily created course and rigid creations out of nothing, for example: mountains, trees (you see, what the hardness of their nature is!), then medium [creations] – waters, and from the waters commanded birds to be born, and even the most subtle: fire and winds, and even those that are invisible to the bodily eye due to [their] subtlety. The ‘heart’ of the “Spiritual Conversations” of Macarius the Great must be understood in the biblical sense as the centre of the spiritual forces of man (including the mind). Another ascetic tradition – the “mysticism of the mind” will merge with the “mysticism of the heart” (first of all, the Diadochus of Photika), which will prevent dangerous deviations in the spiritual life. This collection of conversations includes all currently known “Spiritual Conversations” attributed to Macarius the Great.

Book Description
"An exciting vision of the future" --Michael Eric Dyson Everything Is Spiritual is an unexpected and compelling invitation to see your life in a whole new way. We have the great moments of our lives, the highs, those times when we soar, when it all makes sense, when it feels like it all has purpose and meaning. And then there are all those other moments—the lows and aches and failures and struggles and experiences that leave us wondering what the point of it all is. Are our lives ultimately bits and pieces and fragments—you try to find a little peace and hope and then it’s over? Or is there more going on here? In our increasingly polarized and disoriented world, Everything Is Spiritual gives us a radical new take on how it all fits together, how it works, how it’s all connected. Part memoir, part extended riff on the quantum nature of reality, part history of the universe, Rob Bell takes us back through the twists and turns and struggles of his story in order to help us see the larger story so that we can reconnect with our story.

Book Description
Love God, love people. Could evangelism really be that simple? Often, it doesn’t seem so. It can feel scary, awkward, and uncomfortable as we try to navigate loaded questions and different perspectives. Even the most faithful of believers sometimes get stumped. But can you imagine if we, as Christians, simply spent time with people who are far from God and provided a safe place to talk about spiritual matters? If we listened to them and discovered what was really important to them? After all . . . it’s what Jesus did. And it’s what you can do too. Drawing straight from the life and ministry of Jesus, The 9 Arts of Spiritual Conversations offers simple practices to help you build relationships with people who believe differently. Anyone who has read and appreciated Becoming a Contagious Christian or Just Walk across the Room won’t want to miss this book on creating a safe space to have natural, loving, and spiritual conversations with others.

Book Description
Recovering Spiritual Practices of the Past titles reach beyond commonly known spiritual formation practices in order to mine the wisdom of the past, bringing to light ways of thinking, living, and growing in Christ that the church today has largely overlooked. In The Lost Discipline of Conversation, spiritual formation professor and author Joanne Jung walks readers through the Puritan practice of "conference," or focused, spiritual conversations intended to promote ongoing transformation. An antidote to privatized faith, conference calls believers to biblical literacy and soul care in a context of transparency and accountability. Useful for believers in any sphere or ministry or stage in life, conference is ultimately a tool for nurturing mutual, godly authenticity within community.

Book Description
Suppose you could ask God any question and get an answer. What would it be? Young people all over the world have been asking those questions. So Neale Donald Walsch, author of the internationally bestselling Conversations with God series had another conversation. Conversations with God for Teens is a simple, clear, straight-to-the-point dialogue that answers teens questions about God, money, sex, love, and more. Conversations with God for Teens reads like a rap session at a church youth group, where teenagers discuss everything they ever wanted to know about life but were too afraid to ask God. Walsch acts as the verbal conduit, showing teenagers how easy it is to converse with the divine. When Claudia, age 16, from Perth, Australia, asks, "Why can't I just have sex with everybody? What's the big deal?", the answer God offers her is: "Nothing you do will ever be okay with everybody. 'Everybody' is a large word. The real question is can you have sex and have it be okay with you?" There's no doubt that the casual question-and-answer format will help make God feel welcoming and accessible to teens. Conversations with God for Teens is the perfect gift purchase for parents, grandparents, and anyone else who wants to provide accessible spiritual content for the teen(s) in their lives.
