Excerpt from Memorials of the Huguenots in America: With Special Reference to Their Emigration to Pennsylvania This is pre-eminently true of America, as we believe this work will abundantly demonstrate, and we believe that the study of this element of our Colonial population will be pursued with greater interest by future historians as their mighty influence in shaping the character and destinies of our country is more fully recognized. Book Description
Excerpt from The Story of the Huguenots: As Contained in Two Addresses Made Before the Huguenot Societies of South Carolina and Pennsylvania As the history of the French Huguenots from the Reformation to the Edict of Toleration in 1787 covers a period of some two centuries and a half, it is obvious that any detailed narrative of their vicissitudes and tribulations must of necessity be a long one. Although the literature of Huguenot history is quite extensive, much that has been written deals exclusively with special phases of the subject and it is not easy to find anywhere a concise epitome of the whole story. I am republishing herein the address delivered before the South Carolina Huguenot Society in 1917, as well as that made before the Huguenot Society of Pennsylvania at Valley Forge on the 6th of May last, believing that the two addresses taken together, in spite of some unavoidable repetitions, will give in reasonably small compass a clear and definite resume of the whole subject. It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers.
