Book Description
Abstract We experimentally report on the soliton dynamics in a passively mode-locked thulium-doped fiber laser based on the nonlinear amplifying loop mirror with all-abnormal dispersion. In fundamental mode-locked regime, stable soliton mode-locked pulses, with central wavelength of 1965.67 nm and repetition rate of 1.72 MHz, have been observed. In addition, by changing the pump power and appropriately rotating the intra-cavity polarization controllers, several distinctive multi-soliton operations and interactions have been observed, such as different types of soliton rain, the release of solitons, the conversion between soliton rain and soliton release, and the emission of quasi-rectangular pulses.

Book Description
The book provides comprehensive and cognitive approach to building and deploying sophisticated information systems. The book utilizes non-linear optimization techniques, fuzzy logic, and rough sets to model various real-world use cases for the digital era. The hybrid information system modeling handles both qualitative and quantitative data and can effectively handle uncertainty and imprecision in the data. The combination of non-linear optimization mechanisms, fuzzy logic, and rough sets provides a robust foundation for next-generation information systems that can fulfill the demands of adaptive, aware, and adroit software applications for the knowledge era. The book emphasizes the importance of the hybrid approach, which combines the strengths of both mathematical and AI techniques, to achieve a more comprehensive and effective modeling process. Hybrid information system modeling techniques combine different approaches, such as fuzzy logic, rough sets, and neural networks, to create models that can handle the complexity and uncertainty of real-world problems. These techniques provide a powerful tool for modeling and analyzing complex systems, and the applications of hybrid information system modeling demonstrate their potential for solving real-world problems in various fields.

Book Description
We report the experimental observations of multiple solitons generation from a carbon nanotube (CNT) -based passively mode-locked fiber lasers. After a fiber-connector-type saturable absorber in which CNT is coated on the fiber connector end is successfully fabricated, stable mode-locked pulses with a 18.8MHz fundamental repetition rate at 1568nm central wavelength is self-started with only 12mW pumping power. The dynamic evolution of solitons as a function of the pump power is presented. Our laser produces multiple solitons of up to ten for the pump power of only 60mW.

Book Description
Passive mode locking of fiber lasers has recently been shown to be a viable technique for the generation of ultra-short optical pulses. In fact pulse-widths as short as 38fsec have been generated with such lasers to date, which compares well with pulse-widths obtainable with much more complex bulk laser systems.
