La primera parte de esta obra resume la genealogía del género apocalíptico. La segunda sintetiza la tradición del "quiliasmo", hoy igualmente viva, y que en los ambientes milenaristas cristianos depende directamente de lo revelado a Juan en Patmos sobre los mil años de reinado de Cristo antes del fin del mundo. Cómo medir exactamente el 'millennium' y a partir de qué fechas concretas es algo aún sin resolver, pues en gran parte depende de la fecha del nacimiento de Jesús, aún objeto de debate. El Fin del Mundo, el Juicio Final, el Apocalipsis, la Era Cristiana y la construcción del Tercer Templo de Jerusalén se presentan, de modo sintético, con recurso directo a las fuentes antiguas, poco conocidas fuera de ambientes especializados.

Most evangelical Christians believe that those people who are not saved before they die will be punished in hell forever. But is this what the Bible truly teaches? Do Christians need to rethink their understanding of hell?
