Book Description
Excerpt from Report of the Canadian Arctic Expedition, 1913-18, Vol. 9: Annelids, Parasitic Worms, Protozoans, Etc., Part G-H, Trematoda and Cestoda; Southern Party, 1913-16 So far as I am aware the parasitic fauna of the Arctic coasts of Eastern Siberia, Alaska and Canada has not up to the present been investigated, but the collections made by the Canadian Arctic Expedition, in so far as they have already been reported upon, show that the region is rich in new forms and worthy of further extensive study. Book Description
Excerpt from Report of the Canadian Arctic Expedition 1913-18, Vol. 9: Annelids Parasitic Worms, Protozoans, Etc.; Part J: Polychaeta (Supplementary); Southern Party, 1913-16 It is interesting to note that while the Canadian specimen of A.gl11c1a_l1s approaches m the character. Of its gill the littoral variety of A. 11mr1'.11a it agrees in the annulation of the region between the second and third chaetiferous annuli with the laminarian variety of A. Marina which has pinnate gills. Examination of well preserved examples of A. Glacialis would' show how far the funnels of the excretory organs agree-with those of A. Marina, and young examples would be useful for the comparative study'of the chaetae, especially of the neuropodia.
