From 2003, Willy Wolff, in his capacity as Sate Rabbi of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, looked after the Jewish communities in Schwerin, Rostock and Wismar whose membership consists almost exclusively of immigrants from the former Soviet Union. His own home, however, is near London.
