"Annoncé dans le budget de 2017, le Plan d'action sur l'eau douce (PAED) fournit un cadre visant à faire avancer les programmes d'Environnement et Changement climatique Canada (ECCC), et ce, dans le but de protéger et de restaurer la qualité de l'eau douce dans les bassins des Grands Lacs et du lac Winnipeg. Le PAED comprend un financement pour les deux bassins s'élevant à 70,5 millions de dollars pour la période allant de l'AF 2017 à 2018 à l'AF 2021 à 2022, dont 25,7 millions de dollars sont affectés au Programme du bassin du lac Winnipeg (PBLW) et 44,84 millions de dollars, à l'Initiative de protection des Grands Lacs. Ce rapport d'évaluation présente les constatations relatives aux activités d'ECCC appuyées par les fonds du PAED alloués au PBLW.
