Book Description
A fun, quirky read in the form of a fantasy, adventure-come detective novel told from the perspectives of the two main characters. Set in the medieval cathedral town of Rochester, Kent and its surrounding areas, 'The Tombstone Detective Agency' tells the story of the county's mysteriously disappearing Ghosts (with a capital G!). Why? How? Who's responsible? As the Kent Board For Ghostly Behaviour is about as effective in protecting its citizens as a leaky umbrella is in keeping out the rain, it's up to Edwardian Ghost Girl Tessie and her detective obsessed Mortal (capital M!) friend Alex to find out by setting up their own detective agency and employing a bunch of eccentric spooks to help with their investigations. Will they succeed in solving the mystery or is there a traitor within their ranks? Aimed at children aged 9 - 12, the book is a fast-paced, imaginative read, packed with colourful characters, vivid descriptions of setting, and events, humour and twists and turns. Designed to encourage reading for pleasure, the novel also offers opportunities for parent/child and class discussion on themes such as friendship, the importance of making good choices, and celebrating differences. Book Description
'My Name is Gracy' is a book that the Lord asked me to write in a dream. As I stepped out into His obedience, He also asked me to paint the cover of the book and showed me exactly how He wanted it to look. Gracy is a wild rabbit from England who shares her true story of how she lost her own family when she was only a baby and how she was rescued by her new mummy when she felt all alone, hungry and scared. From being fed with a little syringe to eating all on her own, Gracy shares how she grew bigger and stronger every day and how she realised it was Jesus who brought her to her new loving family. Gracy also discovers her new mum's love for Jesus and starts seeing how much He really loves and cares for all of us. She loves her new cat brother Simba very much and shares her own photos of her journey to take children a bit deeper into her story of true love and grace. Its a story that will warm any child's heart as they get to know Gracy and learn all about her new life with her new family and how Jesus provides for all their needs.

Book Description
This is a book to help children understand our universe a little more, now I have found that in a child's mind, fact and fiction can be one and the same thing. It's only when we grow up that the fiction fades and the facts become all too real. We must learn not to blind children with science, but to open their eyes so they see for themselves all the wonders it holds. With fiction, we must allow a child's mind to explore for itself all the wonders of freedom of thought. So hopefully, I have combined just enough of both to keep a child interested, while also teaching them a little about our solar system, so that they will want to go on and read more. I believe as an adult, the best thing to hear in life is children laughing and, as a child, the best thing is a good bedtime story. So this book is ideal for mums and dads to read together with their children. And when the child asks for facts, they are there within the story, along with lots of new little alien characters for the children to discover and follow in all their adventures.

Book Description
Eleven-year-old KATTY and her younger brother JAKE come together to form the 'Enviro Kids', but they still play, bicker, and fight. MUM and DAD do their parenting duties but only when they are not bickering themselves over the chocolate brownies. Mum is going to miss her chocolate brownies. So too is Dad! SERGIO complains about chopped down trees and burning fires of destruction of the forest. Animals perish in the fires; animals are orphaned in the chaos and destruction. Soot clings to everything; trees die forever. The rainforest is disappearing - the lungs of the Earth are wheezing. This is everybody's environment and everybody's planet. Katty and Jake are on a mission, and the battle is on against the filthy pollutants. With the help of their school science teacher, MISS VIOLET, things were going to change before it was too late. Miss Violet conducts pollution experiments, and they begin a crusade to help the Amazon rainforest and to start their tree planting campaign. Katty is one small girl in a very big world who witnesses deforestation. There are a handful of suspects and a lot more baddies. The rainforest is filled with eerie chitter-chatter whispers. All aboard the journey of discovery, where nothing is as it seems! Everything is burning out of control. Time is running out. Seriously! The trees are burning; the forest is disappearing. A mystery story that is not actually a mystery! Get it? Oh, you defo will get it. Boomerang! is a children's story detailing the adventures of Katty, her brother Jake and their parents as they travel to the Amazon rainforest. Amongst other things, they discover magical trees called the Mystrees, come face to face with a caiman crocodile and meet a talking owl. With these mystical elements, the story has many aspects that are enjoyed in children's stories in the current market. But what is unique here is the way the author delicately, but with conviction, addresses the issues of climate change in a way that children will understand. This is the biggest strength of the story. The writing goes up a gear when the animals, the pollutants and Katty talk about the environmental issues and so it's clear that this is something the author is passionate about. Overall, it's a fun story about family but also about standing up for the environmental issues you believe in.

Book Description
Sometimes all that s needed to oust darkness is a little light ... Fifteen year old Phoebe Wren had never been afraid of the dark, or the monsters and demons that inhabit its realms. But the dark creatures are learning to fear her ... Captain Schnither, fearsome leader of the Dark Army, knew full well that it would be more than his life was worth if he allowed Phoebe Wren and her loyal friends to gain the upper hand. The troublesome humans had outwitted him once too often, and it was time to put an end to their meddling once and for all. For a mere mortal to jeopardise evil s shadowy reign in the small town of Arles, Ireland, was unthinkable, even if the mortal was one of the Unspeakables a Light Bringer, tasked by the Atoner himself to bring an end to the dominion of darkness. Having dared to defy Schnither and his cronies once before, Phoebe knew that life back home in Ireland would not stay quiet for long. But she was not prepared for the ethereal struggle that was about to descend upon her and her loyal friends, Demetrius and Ella. With the help of Cosain, the fierce Captain of the angelic army and his brave warriors, Phoebe must risk everything as she takes on the wrath of Schnither and his dark hordes in a timeless battle of good versus evil.

Book Description
Part of the regionalist movement that included Grant Wood, Paul Engle, Hamlin Garland, and Jay G. Sigmund, James Hearst helped create what Iowa novelist Ruth Suckow called a poetry of place. A lifelong Iowa farner, Hearst began writing poetry at age nineteen and eventually wrote thirteen books of poems, a novel, short stories, cantatas, and essays, which gained him a devoted following Many of his poems were published in the regionalist periodicals of the time, including the Midland, and by the great regional presses, including Carroll Coleman's Prairie Press. Drawing on his experiences as a farmer, Hearst wrote with a distinct voice of rural life and its joys and conflicts, of his own battles with physical and emotional pain (he was partially paralyzed in a farm accident), and of his own place in the world. His clear eye offered a vision of the midwestern agrarian life that was sympathetic but not sentimental - a people and an art rooted in place.
