The Pavements and Construction Equipment Operator career ladder was surveyed to obtain current task and equipment data for use in evaluating current training programs and as part of the 5-year production cycle for career ladder analyses. Survey results are based on responses from 1,756 respondents (1,579 military and 177 civilian respondents). Responses were received from 66 percent of all eligible AFSC 3E2X1 military personnel and 25 percent of eligible civilian pavements and construction equipment operators (spread out over 14 different occupational series). The predominant occupational series included in this survey include: 5703, Motor Vehicle Operator; 5705, Tractor Operator; 5716, Engineering Equipment Operator; and 5767, Airfield Clearing Equipment Operator. All major using commands are well represented in the survey sample.
