The first edition of the North Shore was issued in 1879 aid numbered 2,000 copies. A second edition of 2,000 copies was issued a month later. Editions of 3,500 each have been issued annually since then. The object of an annual publication is to keep pace with the rapid growth of the North Shore. We do not make a new book every year, but so revise the previous edition as to include the changes and additions which are constantly being made.
