Book 1 is the first book in the Modern Method For Drums series. For too long, students have had to scroll through YouTube or Instagram to find drum tutorials on modern 21st century repertoire. I wrote this book to put a stop to that.The idea behind this book is to show you not just the techniques and rhythmic language required to play drums, but how to use that knowledge in a musical way. I found that students were learning particular technical elements of drumming without realising, meaning their ability was becoming wasted as they wouldn't know what to do with it. I wrote this book to change that - to teach you the raw basics of drumming, then show you what you can do with that ability.The book is written in 10 main sections, with section 11 consisting of warm- ups. The sections are broadly based on ability (from beginner to advanced), but there is nothing to say the book has to be worked on from beginning to end in order. The content of the book is divided into categories - Techniques, Rudiments, Exercises, Grooves, Musicianship Skills, and Studies.Features 204 pages of musical content.
