Il volume nasce dall’esperienza maturata nel corso degli anni dagli autori nell’ambito dell’attività di supporto tecnico a professionisti per l’utilizzo di codici di calcolo per l’Ingegneria Civile e dell’attività di divulgazione scientifica in ambiente accademico sui temi attuali della progettazione strutturale. L’idea della trattazione nasce da una domanda: come il progettista, utente di programmi di calcolo, può sfruttare gli strumenti a sua disposizione per raggiungere un adeguato livello di attendibilità dei risultati, così come esplicitamente richiesto dalla normativa italiana? Il testo è rivolto a tutti i tipi di operatori (progettisti, consulenti, figure deputate al controllo, studenti) che, per ragioni professionali o di studio, si trovano ad utilizzare programmi di calcolo strutturale. In particolar modo, i contenuti dell’opera possono costituire un valido aiuto per quei professionisti che, in seguito ai frequenti eventi sismici degli ultimi anni, sono chiamati ad affrontare situazioni sempre più complesse nell’ambito delle analisi sismiche di strutture esistenti in campo non lineare con particolare riferimento ad edifici in muratura di geometria complessa ed edifici industriali prefabbricati monopiano. Lorenza Petrini, ingegnere civile strutturista, dottore di ricerca in Ingegneria Civile. E’ stata ricercatrice presso il Centro Europeo di Formazione e Ricerca in Ingegneria Sismica di Pavia (EUCENTRE) e attualmente è Professore Associato (settore ICAR/08 Scienza delle Costruzioni) presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Ambientale del Politecnico di Milano. Paolo Sattamino, ingegnere civile strutturista. Dopo un’esperienza iniziale nell’ambito della progettazione strutturale, si occupa dal 2000 di software di calcolo strutturale. Attualmente ricopre l’incarico di Responsabile del Settore di Calcolo Strutturale per la Società Harpaceas di Milano. Già autore di altri testi sulla validazione dei modelli di calcolo di strutture.Adalgisa Zirpoli, ingegnere civile geotecnico, dottore di ricerca in Ingegneria Strutturale, Sismica e Geotecnica. Dopo un’esperienza di ricerca presso il Politecnico di Milano, collabora conla Società Harpaceas di Milano dove si occupa dell’assistenza tecnica e del supporto allo sviluppo di diversi software per l’Ingegneria civile.
