Habad the seeming misfortune ofbeing born of poor parentage and grew to manhood with but a limited education, but this seeming misfortune was much more than balanced by his naturally strong and well balanced mind, while be improved much by a, constant and careful reading and searching the scrip tures, with much of which he was familiar, preached for a time at sandygrove, Hickory Rock and Castalia, was punctual in attending his appointments, was plain, but earnest; Christ and Him crucified was his theme, salvation by grace only.
