Many years before the Brontes came to Haworth, William Grimshaw was the Anglican minister there and led in the Evangelical Awakening in that area during the 1700's. His transformation from an unconverted vicar to a powerful preacher is one of many similar stories to come out of this revival. He preached alongside George Whitefield and John Wesley and saw hundreds, if not thousands, come to faith in Christ under his ministry.This brief biographical memoir is told by John Newton, the author of the hymn, Amazing Grace.
