In 1750, he publifhed the firft fe parate edition of his Prefent State of Europe 3 a work which had been originally begun in 1746, in the Mufeum, a very valuable periodical performance, printed for Mr. Dodfley. There is no produftion of our author's that hath met with a better te ception. It has gone through fix editions, and fully hath it deferved this encouragement; for it is not eafy to find a book which, in fuch a moderate compafs, contains fo much hiftorical and political information.
