De nombreux facteurs ont été identifiés comme influençant le choix contraceptif d'une femme notamment Internet. En effet, en 2021, 92% des Français de 12 ans et plus sont des internautes. Ces internautes peuvent utiliser Internet pour effectuer des recherches en lien avec la santé. Quel est donc l'impact d'Internet sur le choix contraceptif d'une femme ? Evaluer l'impact d'Internet et de ses différentes plateformes sur le choix contraceptif d'une femme. Identifier les plateformes le plus utilisées et évaluer l'impact en fonction de différentes tranches d'âges. Mettre en évidence des moyens d'apporter des informations fiables aux femmes. Etude quantitative, observationnelle, descriptive, auprès de 534 femmes utilisant un moyen de contraception, par le biais d'un questionnaire en ligne diffusé de septembre à novembre 2021 57,87% des femmes interrogées ont utilisé Internet afin d'effectuer des recherches avant leur choix contraceptif et 70,50% estiment qu'Internet a eu un réel impact sur ce choix. Les plateformes le plus utilisées sont les sites internet et les réseaux sociaux. Celles-ci sont majoritairement utilisées par les tranches d'âges jeunes. Différents moyens d'apporter des informations fiables ont été identifiés. Parmi eux, une meilleure formation des professionnels de santé, une meilleure éducation scolaire, la création d'un réseau social dédié à la contraception. Internet a un réel impact sur le choix contraceptif d'une femme. Il est maintenant important de mettre en œuvre des moyens d'apporter des informations fiables aux patientes devant le flux d'informations apportées par Internet afin de permettre un choix adapté aux patientes permettant une meilleure observance.

The Male Pill is the first book to reveal the history of hormonal contraceptives for men. Nelly Oudshoorn explains why it is that, although the technical feasibility of male contraceptives was demonstrated as early as the 1970s, there is, to date, no male pill. Ever since the idea of hormonal contraceptives for men was introduced, scientists, feminists, journalists, and pharmaceutical entrepreneurs have questioned whether men and women would accept a new male contraceptive if one were available. Providing a richly detailed examination of the cultural, scientific, and policy work around the male pill from the 1960s through the 1990s, Oudshoorn advances work at the intersection of gender studies and the sociology of technology. Oudshoorn emphasizes that the introduction of contraceptives for men depends to a great extent on changing ideas about reproductive responsibility. Initial interest in the male pill, she shows, came from outside the scientific community: from the governments of China and India, which were interested in population control, and from Western feminists, who wanted the responsibilities and health risks associated with contraception shared more equally between the sexes. She documents how in the 1970s, the World Health Organization took the lead in investigating male contraceptives by coordinating an unprecedented, worldwide research network. She chronicles how the search for a male pill required significant reorganization of drug-testing standards and protocols and of the family-planning infrastructure—including founding special clinics for men, creating separate spaces for men within existing clinics, enrolling new professionals, and defining new categories of patients. India was a pioneer in legalizing induced abortion, or Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) in 1971. Yet, after three decades, morbidity and mortality due to unsafe abortion remain a serious problem. There is little public debate on the issue despite several national campaigns on safe motherhood. Instead, discussion on abortion has mainly centred around declining sex ratio, sex-selective abortion, and the proliferation of abortion clinics in urban areas. Adding to the problem is that abortion continues to be a sensitive, private matter, often with ethical/moral/religious connotations that sets it apart from other reproductive health-seeking behaviour. This book fills a gap in our understanding of the ground realities with respect to induced abortion in India to create an evidence-based body of knowledge. Using both quantitative and qualitative research methods, the case studies show why and under what circumstances women seek abortion and the quality of services available to them. They also explore inter-generational differences in attitudes and practices, the perceptions and selection of providers, female-selective abortion, and informal abortion practitioners. Among other issues, the contributors show that strong preference for sons, availability of modern techniques for diagnostic tests, widespread acceptance of the small family norm, and heavy reliance on female sterilisation as the primary method of contraception lead women to abort unwanted pregnancies.
