Book Description
DANS LE CADRE D'UNE TENTATIVE DE DEMONSTRATION DE L'EMERGENCE D'UN DROIT DES PRODUITS, LE SECTEUR DE L'INDUSTRIE FRANCAISE DES PRODUITS COSMETIQUES CONSTITUT UN EXCELLENT CHAMP D'INVESTIGATION. LA DEMARCHE VA CONSISTER A SUIVRE LE CIRCUIT ECONOMIQUE PRIS PAR LE PRODUIT. LE PREMIER STADE DE CE CIRCUIT EST CONSTITUE PAR LA FABRICATION DES PRODUITS COSMETIQUES, LA NOTION DE FABRICATION ETANT ICI A COMPRENDRE COMME CREATION D'UN PRODUIT NOUVEAU. DANS UN PREMIER TEMPS SONT ABORDEES LES CONTRAINTES IMPOSEES AUX FABRICANTS DANS UN SOUCI DE PROTECTION DE LA SANTE ET DE LA SECURITE DU CONSOMMATEUR. DANS UN SECOND TEMPS SONT ABORDES LES PROBLEMES LIES A LA MARQUE, ELEMENT ESSENTIEL POUR LE SUCCES COMMERCIAL DES PRODUITS SURTOUT LORSQU'IL S'AGIT DE PRODUITS DE LUXE. IL EST POSSIBLE D'AILLEURS DE DETERMINER UNE TYPOLOGIE DES ATTEINTES A LA MARQUE DANS LE SECTEUR DES COSMETIQUES. BIEN QUE LE DROIT SUR LA MARQUE SOIT PROTEGE EFFICACEMENT EN DROIT FRANCAIS, LES FABRICANTS FRANCAIS DE COSMETIQUES VOIENT NEANMOINS CETTE PROTECTION LIMITEE PAR L'APPLICATION DE LA THEORIE DE L'EPUISEMENT DU DROIT. LE SECOND STADE DU CIRCUIT ECONOMIQUE, LA DISTRIBUTION, FAIT L'OBJET DE LA SECONDE PARTIE. APRES AVOIR OBSERVE L'ORGANISATION CONTRACTUELLE DE TROIS MODES DE DISTRIBUTION PARTICULIERS (LA DISTRIBUTION SELECTIVE EN PARFUMERIE, LA DISTRIBUTION EN FRANCHISE, LA DISTRIBUTION EN PHARMACIE), IL CONVIENT D'EXAMINER LEUR EVOLUTION FACE AU DROIT DE LA CONCURRENCE. LE PROBLEME MAJEUR SE POSE ACTUELLEMENT POUR LA PREMIERE NOMMEE SUR DEUX POINTS : SON EVENTUELLE JUSTIFICATION "DEFINITIVE" ET SA PROTECTION CONTRE LES APPROVISIONNEMENTS HORS RESEAU. ENFIN, LA TROISIEME PARTIE COORESPOND AU TROISIEME STADE DU CIRCUIT ECONOMIQUE : LA CONSOMMATION. LE DROIT DU CONSOMMATEUR A UNE INFORMATION COMPLETE ET EXACTE SUR LES CARACTERISTIQUES DES PRODUITS COSMETIQUES, AUSSI RESPECTE SOIT-IL, NE PERMET PAS D'EVITER TOUT RISQUE D'ACCIDENTS. IL RESTE ALORS A SAVOIR QUEL REGIME DE RESPONSABILITE PEUT ETRE MIS EN OEUVRE.

The Force of Beauty
Author: Holly Grout
Publisher: LSU Press
ISBN: 0807159905
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 334
Book Description
The market for commercial beauty products exploded in Third Republic France, with a proliferation of goods promising to erase female imperfections and perpetuate an aesthetic of femininity that conveyed health and respectability. While the industry's meteoric growth helped to codify conventional standards of womanhood, The Force of Beauty goes beyond the narrative of beauty culture as a tool for sociopolitical subjugation to show how it also targeted women as important consumers in major markets and created new avenues by which they could express their identities and challenge or reinforce gender norms. As cosmetics companies and cultural media, from magazines to novels to cinema, urged women to aspire to commercial standards of female perfection, beauty evolved as a goal to be pursued rather than a biological inheritance. The products and techniques that enabled women to embody society's feminine ideal also taught them how to fashion their bodies into objects of desire and thus offered a subversive tool of self-expression. Holly Grout explores attempts by commercial beauty culture to reconcile a standard of respectability with female sexuality, as well as its efforts to position French women within the global phenomenon of changing views on modern womanhood. Grout draws on a wide range of primary sources-hygiene manuals, professional and legal debates about the right to fabricate and distribute "medicines," advertisements for beauty products, and contemporary fiction and works of art-to explore how French women navigated changing views on femininity. Her seamless integration of gender studies with business history, aesthetics, and the history of medicine results in a textured and complex study of the relationship between the politics of womanhood and the politics of beauty.
