Record the beauty, emotions, and experiences of everyday life — not in your journal but with your knitting needles! Author Lea Redmond offers 32 enchanting projects that will inspire you to create beautiful finished pieces full of personal meaning and memories. Stock up on shades of blue, gray, and white and knit one strip of a scarf each day for a year, using the color that matches the sky on that day. When you’re done, you’ll have a unique memento of your year better than anything you can keep in a scrapbook. Or when you’re traveling, knit postcard-size swatches at each place you visit, using the colors you see around you. When the trip is over, piece the swatches together into a throw or scarf that will remind you of your journey every time you use it. Or knit a height-chart scarf for a beloved baby, starting with her length at birth and adding inches each year until you have the perfect gift for her 18th birthday. These are knitting projects like no other, resulting in one-of-a-kind heirlooms that tell a story only you can tell. Redmond provides instructions for all the stitches and techniques you need, as well as required patterns.

Express your colorful side! The patterns in Geometric Knit Blankets are inspired by quilts, tiles, and other color block designs. Every blanket is a stunning feast for the eyes, and all are for the intermediate knitter or confident beginner. Knit them as shown or choose colors you love best or that work with your decor. The construction of each blanket is fully and beautifully illustrated, and the techniques used to make each item are clearly listed so you know what is involved. Many blankets offer two methods of construction, so you can choose to knit with techniques you favor. The blankets feature an abundance of different geometric shapes: squares, rectangles, triangles, diamonds, hexagons, circles. The individual blocks for a given blanket can also be rearranged to make additional designs. These blankets are so much fun you will want to make them all!

And lighter, leaner, faster gives her the edge she needs over the new girl on the team, a girl who keeps flirting with Raesha's boyfriend and making plans with her best friend. So she focuses on minus five. But if she isn't careful, she's going to lose more than just the people she loves, she's going to lose herself to lighter, leaner, faster... "Sit quietly with this book. Book Description
English designer Ann Kingstone has created a beautiful collection of 12 patterns themed for the seasons of the year. A wonderful variety of garments and accessories is shown to perfection in the stunning photography by Verity Britton. The designs include 3 tops and a coat which have been sized for 32-58 inch chests. A remarkable size range! Shawl lovers have 3 to choose from, while socks, gloves and slippers provide plenty to delight gift knitters. Ann is justifiably known as 'a knitter's designer', creating patterns incorporating up-to-date knitting techniques and construction methods. Thus the patterns in this book are all entirely seamless, and the sweaters and coat are knitted top-down with integrally knitted sleevecaps. As is typical for Ann's work, the collection includes extraordinary lace, cable, colourwork, icord, and feather and fan details. Though Ann's work is generally regarded as best suited to intermediate to advanced knitters, her pattern writing style is so clear that even inexperienced knitters have found themselves able to undertake new techniques following her straightforward, succinct instructions. Japanese short rows, applied icord, and one-row buttonholes are made easy with brief yet careful directions where they occur. The book also contains some musings about appropriate fibre and projects for each of the four seasons. Though Ann is an English designer, the patterns all include imperial as well as metric measurements, and American as well as English knitting terms and needle sizes. However, British spelling is used throughout, and Ann is culturally unable to call a jumper a sweater! If you can forgive her for this you will love this book.
